Chris Bishop is a Senior Lecturer in Sensors and Telecommunications at the University of Lincoln and is based at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth where he lectures in Earth Observation Satellite Science for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and warship naval sensor and communication systems.
He has a BA in Mathematics and Physics, an MSc in Astronomy and Astronautics, and an MPhil in Stellar Optical Photometry. He is a member of the Astrophysics Group at The University of Lincoln, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a member of the Institute of Physics. He also holds a PGCE in Mathematics and has written texts in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Medical Physics for A-level/Foundation degree students.
Chris’s research interests are in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to unmanned deep space exploration. He is currently working with Professor Angelo Cangelosi on a solar-terrestrial like exoplanet classification neural network for a robotic deep space interstellar vehicle.
